Our clay-based paint has several specifications to keep in mind for the best results. First, air humidity should be between 50% and 80%.
Other factors include the substrate’s moisture content, which should not exceed 3%, and the ambient temperature, which should be between 5°C and 30°C. This paint can be worked with for up to 48 hours at moderate temperatures (around 20°C). However, drying time may vary depending on environmental conditions.
How to apply Clay Paint
To achieve the best results, follow a series of steps when applying this paint. Proper preparation ensures a long-lasting, high-quality finish.
However, what to keep in mind when using this paint is that:
- The substrate must be breathable, completely dry, and free from dirt or salt deposits.
- If there are renderings, they must be damage-free and smoothed with natural plasters.
- Apply ECO Primer on porous substrates and apply at least 2 coats of paint using a short-nap roller, brush, or airless sprayer.
- Allow each coat to dry for 24 hours, always considering the environmental conditions.
- For mixing, use one liter of water for every liter of paint used. If you want a specific color, refer to our color chart for the correct pigment dosage.
After mixing all elements (preferably with an electric mixer), let the mixture rest for about 30 minutes. Then, optionally add more water to increase fluidity
